Jason Alder wins his first race at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Round 6 of the INEX / US Legends International Winter Heat Series on January 30, 2016.

AB Motorsports spent most the January in the warmer climates of Concord, NC participating in the INEX/US Legend International Winter Heat Series. The Series consisted of seven races that included one race on the new Oval outside of the speedway behind Turn 3 and six races on the new Road Course located inside of turn 2 of the main speedway.

“The Winer Heat Series this year was plagued with cold temperatures, rain and snow which disrupted the scheduling of the events” said Jason Alder, who continued to say, “We struggled to get good practices throughout the course of the series which definitely affected my opportunity to gain more experience in these cars and learn more about how they handle on the track.”

Although there was a shortage of practice it didn’t seem to slow Team 77 down as they consistently qualified well throughout the series and finished on the podium in every race.

The weekend of January 30th was Jason’s best weekend by far. It was a very long weekend with two races on Saturday and one race on Sunday to finish out the series. The long days paid off finishing P1 in the first Heat race and P2 in the first feature. He also finished P2 in the second Heat races and P1 the second feature race. This feature win was his first win at Charlotte Motor Speedway and a huge day for him on the long road course which is a very technical track.

Jason’s results for the series can be found here.

Jason said, “Overall, I am very pleased with my results in this series. The competition is very tough racing against the best bandolero drivers in the country. I am very happy with winning a couple heat races, poles and a feature. I have learned so much during this series about these cars and how they handle and am looking forward to the rest of the 2016 racing season.”

The videos of the Winter Heat are posted on AB Motorsports YouTube channel here.

Jason’s next race will be on April 2, 2016 at Shenandoah Speedway. Follow along on race Monitor and check our social media updates on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram throughout the day.
