The AB Motorsports team decided last minute to drive down to Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS) to participate in the second round of the Bojangles Summer Shootout televised on MavTV. Due to the last minute nature of the trip, Jason missed the first couple rounds of practice due to a paperwork error and INEX would not let Team 77 register to compete. After several hours of working it out Team 77 was finally cleared to hit the track. As a result we were only able to get on the track for two short rounds of practice before the drivers meeting and the feature race.
At the drivers meeting I drew 9th starting position out of 21 drivers for the feature race. The feature was caution heavy with a number of crashes. Team 77 driver, Jason Alder got very lucky and avoided several crashes including a multi-roll flip. Jason worked his way up to seventh and then up to sixth and finished the race under caution in 5th place. “I was under a lot of pressure driving against the best bandolero drivers in the nation. When you race here, you get a sense of how good you really are. It is a dog fight out there and everyone wants to win and win bad. I am very pleased with our team’s performance tonight. It is always a good day when you walk away with a trophy at CMS” said Jason Alder.
Thanks to Champion Spark Plugs and Federal-Mogul, Fortinet, Odyssey Battery, 2020 Teknology, Boca Bearing Company and Valvoline motor oils for helping Team 77 enjoy this awesome sport. We also appreciate all the work of our charity of choice, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
