06212016After the good finish in Round 2 of the Bojangles Summer Shootout at Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS), Team 77 was excited to enter Round 3 of the Bojangles Summer Shootout. The event didn't go as planned but we recovered nicely. Our trouble started during our heat race when on the first lap the brake line developed a hole in it causing brake fluid to run all over the right rear tire. Of course the car lost all brake pressure and Jason had to come off the track immediately. Fortunately we were able to stay out of trouble and get it back to the garage without incident but unfortunately it meant Team 77 was starting all the way in the rear; P21 to be exact was our starting position for the feature event.

The event had a number of cautions which Team 77 was able to capitalize on and slowly work our way toward the front. At the halfway point of the race we had worked our way up to P10 without a scratch on the car and had avoided several accidents. Team 77 was making steady progress forward and with 5 laps to go we were up to P4 when the final caution came out. "At the final green, I exited turn 2 a little wide and allowed a car to pass me. I finished the race in 5th. I made a mistake and it cost me.  Although I didn't win, I think I passed more cars than anyone else out there. It was crazy out there and a lot of fun.  It was another solid finish for us at Charlotte Motor Speedway" said Jason Alder.

Videos of this race can be seen on the AB Motorsports YouTube Channel.
